How BreatheBuddies Help
Many children naturally leave their mouth slightly open when they’re focused, relaxed, or unaware of their mouth position — for example while reading, drawing, or watching a screen.
BreatheBuddies gently help keep the lips closed during these calm moments.
This tool encourages breathing through the nose and helps children become more aware of their mouth and breathing habits.
Designed for children aged 5, and up, the strips are made from soft, skin-friendly materials that feel comfortable and natural on the skin.
How it works
Creating calm breathing habits starts with gentle, supervised moments of awareness.
Explain the process
Kids should know what this tool does and why it is important to breathe through the nose. Show them why it's important to use mouth strips.

Have a calm and clean environment
Before using mouth strips make sure you wash your hands to not bring any bacteria to your mouth. Begin during a calm, quiet activity— such as reading, drawing, or resting.

Applying the mouth strip
Place the strip lightly across the center of the lips. For extra gentleness, lightly press the strip once onto the back of your hand before applying — this helps soften the adhesive for your first use.

Using mouth strips
Start with short sessions (10–15 minutes) and gradually increase the duration as your child becomes familiar and relaxed.

Removing mouth strip
Slowly peel from one side while supporting the skin. For even easier removal, you can gently tap the strip with a little water.

Take a moment together to notice how calm and natural breathing feels.
Used during supervised daytime sessions, and repeated daily if comfortable, BreatheBuddies can help:
- Support nose breathing during quiet activities.
- Encourage a natural resting mouth position.
- Build awareness of breathing habits over time.
There’s no forcing or correction — just a gentle cue that guides awareness back to the nose.

A Few Important Notes
Do:
- Use only during calm, supervised daytime moments
- Begin with shorter durations and gradually extend them based on the child's comfort level
- Make sure your child can remove the strip independently
- Keep the experience light, calm, and positive
- Stop immediately if any discomfort or irritation appears
Please don’t:
- Do not use during sleep
- Do not use if your child has nasal congestion, blocked sinuses, a cold, or feels unwell
- Do not use if your child feels nauseous or may vomit
- Do not force or insist — this is about awareness, not correction
A Gentle Reminder
